Jose Feliciano Plays The Jazz Cafe In London

Puerto Rican acoustic guitarist Jose Feliciano, who was born blind, is a wonderfully compelling, lively and talkative musician. He told the BBC Breakfast television this morning that being blind just means you have to adapt and “doesn’t see blindness as a disability”.

Feliciano loved music from the age of 3, a self-taught guitarist from the age of 9 – 16 he copied and followed a number of classical guitarists from a very early age including Julian Bream.

Jose is famous for his cover versions from various artists including The Doors with Light My Fire and hits from Sir Elton John.

Being told on many occasions that Elton John sounds very much like him, he decided he would turn the tables and sound like Sir Elton by recording the classic hit 60 Years On.

Singing Fire and Rain live on Breakfast Television this morning, Jose Feliciano, shows that he is a natural guitar player; it is breath-taking as you listen and watch his fingers work the guitar. He truly is a genuinely nice man with a wonderful talent. The Jazz Cafe in London is surely proud to see such rare talent appear live on stage over the next 3 nights.
