Originally from Virginia, USA, Rich Hall uses every opportunity during his stand-up appearances to lay into the American culture, for example he says, ‘America under Obama, is like a shit film that Denzil Washington was great in’
He is an extremely intelligent stand-up comic. He gets to know the area he’s performing in and works the front row audience a treat, always getting someone he can “use” during the show!
Rich Halls' Alter Ego Otis Lee Crenshaw
His Alter Ego, Otis Lee Crenshaw is a Country and Western singer with a twist. His band are, in reality, very good musicians, but Rich Hall writes and sings the songs in his gruff, grumpy voice and twinkle in his eye. Therefore his songs are normally dark and very very funny. ‘Bag Lady’ is especially funny as he sings about taking off all her clothes and making love to her, the song ‘Incest Boy’ (a Super Human Hero but they got the spelling wrong and should have been ‘Insect Boy’), is quite shockingly funny.
In real life, Rich Hall is quite shy, I have met him a couple of times after his shows, signing his CD, he really is a humble and very intelligent person.
